"Mudd 7th in RW, Cofojohn 10th in Discus"
(Fresno, CA) Maria Mudd (So., Suffield, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) finished 7th racewalk at the 27th annual NAIA Track and Field Championships. Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) was 10th in the discus (43.75m).

"Walsh Will Send Four Athletes to Nationals"

Walsh University will send four athletes to the 27th annual NAIA Track and Field Championships, held at Fresno Pacific University, in Fresno, CA (5/24-26).

Maria Mudd (So., Suffield, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) will be making her second trip to nationals. She will compete in the 3000m racewalk. Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) will compete in the discus, Tess Francis (Sr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) in the 400m hurdles and Andrea DiNinno (So., Greensburg, PA/Central Catholic) in the marathon.

Francis will compete on Friday, with Cofojohn, DiNinno and Mudd competing on Saturday.

"Cavs at Al Campbell Open on Saturday"

Walsh's Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) paced the Cavs with a seventh place finish in the discus (126-25) at the Sparky Adams Invitational, held at Baldwin-Wallace College this past weekend. Ebony Williams (Jr., Akron, OH/Firestone) was eighth in the high jump (4-10.25).

The Cavs are at the Al Campbell Open, at the University of Akron on Saturday.

"Cavs 6th at AMC Championships"

(Houghton, NY) Walsh finished sixth at the American Mideast Conference championships, held at Houghton College. Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) paced the Cavs with a second place finish in the discus (130-02). Maria Mudd (So., Suffield, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) (17:37.58) and Vicki Tomsic (Sr., Madison, OH/HS) (18:38.32) were third and sixth respectively in the 3000m race walk. Jackie Misiak (So., North Royalton, OH/HS) finished fifth in the 100m hurdles (16.45), Tess Francis (Sr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) was sixth in the 400m hurdles (1:08.62), Abbie Sullivan (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) was sixth in the pole vault (7-00.25) and Abbey Marshall (So., New Boston, OH/Glenwood) was sixth in the javelin (102-110. Cavs (20-5) Fourth at Wooster

Walsh (20-5) finished fourth at the College of Wooster today. Walsh had 93.5 points.Case Western Reserve won the meet with 118.5 points. The Cavs are at Mount Union next Saturday.

The Cavs lone win came from Ebony Williams (Jr., Akron, OH/Firestone) in the high jump.The former AMC champ won with a jump of 5.2. Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) placed second in the shot put (36.5.75) and third in the discus (119.0).The Cavs received third place finishes from Kristen LeFever in the 800m (2:26.56), Lauren Blase (Fr., Boardman, OH/HS) 5000m (19:51.38), Tess Francis (Sr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) 400H (69.69), Jackie Misiak (So., North Royalton, OH/HS) 100h (16.59), and in the 4x100 relay (52.53) with Jessica LeGrair (Sr., Copley, OH/HS) , Brenna Kirkbride (So., Atwater, OH/Waterloo), Jessica Swihart (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) and Casey Fischer (Jr., Aurora, OH/HS).

Maria Mudd (So., Suffield, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) and Vicki Tomsic (Sr., Madison, OH/HS) competed in the 3000m race walk at Cedarville University on Saturday.Mudd placed fourth, and met the provisional standard of 18:30, with a time of 18:25.63.Tomsic was fifth (18:47.68).

"Cavs Shine at Muskingum/Cofojohn Wins Shot and Discus"
(Muskingum, OH) Walsh (12-2) placed third in the 12-team Muskingim Invitational today. The Cavs were paced by Danielle Cofojohn's (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) double victory in the shot put (38-07.75) and discus (133.04). Jessica LeGrair (Sr., Copley, OH/HS) was second in long jump (15-11.75), and was a member of Walsh's third place 4x100m relay team. Legrair, along with Brenna Kirkbride (So. Atwater, OH/Waterloo), Jessica Swihart (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) and Casey Fischer (Jr., Aurora, OH/HS) posted a time of 51.68 in the 4x100m.
The Cavs also received third place finishes from Kirkbride in the 100m dash (13.50) and Amy Stermole (Jr., North Ridgeville, OH/HS) in the shot put (37-00.50). Stermole set a personal record in the shot. Lauren Blase (Fr., Boardman, OH/HS), Andrea DiNinno (So., Greensburg, PA/Central Catholic) and Casey Fischer (Jr., Aurora, OH/HS) each garnered fourth place finishes, Blase in the 5000m (20:05.61), DiNinno in the 3000m steeple (13.03.41), and Fischer in the 100m dash (13.55). Tess Francis (Sr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) was fifth in the 400m hurdles (1:10.73) and Mikka Ray (Sr., Minerva, OH/HS) in the triple jump (32-06.50).
The Cavs are at the College of Wooster on Saturday.

"Cavs Compete at Mount Union Open"
(Alliance, OH) Walsh performed well at the Mount Union Open today. The Cavs picked-up two second place finishes to highlight the day. Ebony Williams (Jr., Akron, OH/Firestone) finished second in the high jump (5-01.25), Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) in the shot put (39-09.75), Lauren Blase (Fr., Boardman, OH/HS) in the mile (5:35.80), Kristen LeFever (Fr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) in the 800m (2:27) and the team of Brenna Kirkbride (So. Atwater, OH/Waterloo), Haley Rogers (So., Akron, OH/Green), Lindsey Roth (Sr., North Canton, OH/GlenOak) and Casey Fischer (Jr., Aurora, OH/HS) in the 4x160 relay (1.27.84).

"Women Fare Well at University of Findlay Open"
(Findlay, OH) Walsh's women's track team fared well at the University of Findlay Open today. The Cavs captured four top-five finishes, paced by Lauren Blase's (Fr., Boardman, OH/HS) second place finish in the 3000m (11:17.64). Kristen LeFever (Fr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) was fourth in the 800m (2:26.54), Andrea DiNinno (So., Greensburg, PA/Central Catholic) fifth in the 3000m (11:45.97) and Jackie Misiak (So., North Royalton, OH/HS) fifth in the 60m hurdles (10.03).

"Cavs (16-4) Fourth at Mount Union Invitational"

Walsh (16-4) finished fourth at the Mount Union College Invitational today. Malone College won the Invitational with 120 points. The Cavs had 58 points. Walsh recorded one second place finish and four third-place finishes. Tess Francis (Sr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) placed second in the 800m in a time of 2:21.99. Ebony Williams (Jr., Akron, OH/Firestone) finished third in the high jump (5-02.25), Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) in shot put (37-00.00), Mikka Ray (Sr., Minerva, OH/HS) in the triple jump (32-10) and Alicia Cooper (So., Atwater, OH/Waterloo) in the 1000m (3:19.04).

Walsh will compete in the University of Findlay Invitational this Friday.

"Cavs (10-1) Second at CWRU Spartan Inviational"

Walsh (10-1) finished a strong second at the Case Western Reserve University Spartan Invitational today. Case Western won the event with 82 points. The Cavs had 75 points. Walsh recorded one first place finish and three second place finishes. Kristin LeFever (Fr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) won the 800m in a time of 2:28.81. Ebony Williams (Jr., Akron, OH/Firestone) finished second in the high jump (5-01.75), Danielle Cofojohn (Fr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) in shot put (38-00.75), and Lauren Blase (Fr., Boardman, OH/HS) in the 5000m (19:54.30). Blase was also third in the mile run (5:32.79). Jackie Misiak (So., North Roylaton, OH/HS) was third in the 55m hurdles (9.25) and Tess Francis (Sr., Randolph, OH/Waterloo) fourth in the 400m dash (1:04.74).

Walsh is at the Mount Union College Invitational this Saturday.
