"DiNinno 65th at Nationals"

Walsh's Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) finished 65th (18:44.6), in a field of 327, at the 29th Annual Women's NAIA Cross Country National Championships held in Kenosha, Wisconsin today. It was DiNinno's first trip to nationals.

"Misiak, Sielski Named 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete"

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced 251 women's cross country runners have been named 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes. Walsh's Jackie Misiak (Sr., North Royalton, OH/HS) and Stephanie Sielski (Sr., Lancaster, OH/Fisher Catholic) were each named for the first time. Misiak is an Education major and Sielski is a pre-med major.

A total of 108 schools were represented this season led by Concordia (Neb.) with nine selections.

Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.

"DiNinno Qualifies for NAIA National Championships"

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the qualifiers for the 29th Annual Women's NAIA Cross Country National Championships, and Walsh's Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) is one of 112 individual qualifiers. DiNinno, who is making her first trip to the NAIA Championship Meet, finished 19th (20:14.4) at the American Mideast Conference Championships, held at Ursuline College on Saturday, earning All-AMC Honorable Mention recognition.

The race will be held at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 22, 2008. The 5k women's race will start at 10:30 a.m. (CST). This year's women's 5K race will feature 32 teams, including 25 conferences/independents/unaffiliated champions and seven at-large bids and 112 individual qualifiers.

"Cavs 6th at AMC Championships, DiNinno Earn HM All-AMC, Awaits At-Large"

Walsh (63-29) finished sixth at the American Mideast Conference Championships today at Ursuline College. Cedarville University won the race for the fourth straight year, with Malone University second.

Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) paced the Cavs with a 19th place finish in a time of 20:16.4, earning honorable mention All-AMC. She will find out on Tuesday if she will receive an at-large bid to the NAIA National Meet in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Katie Laughlin (Fr., Malvern, OH/Canton South) finished 29th (21:13.0), Megan Case (So., Louisville, OH/HS) 31st (21:20.4), Kim Swartz (Fr., Tiffin, OH/Tiffin Calvert) 35th (21:45.3), Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) 38th (21:54.7), Ashley Demsey (Sr., Parma, OH/Padua Franciscan) 41st (21:11.0) and Erin Koppel (Sr., McDonald, OH/HS) 44th (22:17.7).

"Cavs at AMC Championships on Saturday, DiNinno Gunning for Nationals"

Walsh (55-24) is set to compete in the American Mideast Conference Championships this Saturday at Ursuline College. The championship race begins at 10:15 am. The Cavs finished fifth last year, with Kristen LeFever (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) earning third-team honors and qualifying for the NAIA National Meet. Walsh's only team appearance at the national meet came in 1982, in their initial season.

Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC), who has paced the Cavs in almost every meet this season, is gunning for a trip to the NAIA Championships.

"Cavs Second at USATF Regional Meet at Malone"

Walsh (55-24) finished second (52) at the USATF Regional Meet at Malone University today. Malone (22) finished first, Ursuline College (88) placed third and Marian College (122) fourth. The Cavs are idle next week, in preparation for the American Mideast Conference Championship meet on November 8.

Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) paced the Cavs with a third place finish in a time of 15:29. Katie Laughlin (Fr., Malvern, OH/Canton South) and Megan Case (So., Louisville, OH.HS) each notched top ten finishes. Laughlin finished 7th (16:03) and Case 9th (16:13).

Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) placed 12th (16:22), Erin Koppel (Sr., McDonald, OH/HS) 21st (17:23), Kim Swartz (Fr., Tiffin, OH/Tiffin Calvert) 22nd (17:35), Chantelle Richards (So., Akron, OH/East) 24th (17:40) and Ashley Demsey (Sr., Parma, OH/Padua Franciscan) 26th (18:05).

"DiNinno, Cavs Win"

Walsh (53-23) and Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) were both winners at the Cavs' home invitational today. Walsh (22) captured first place in seven-team invitational, while DiNinno (18:47) won her third race of the season. Andrea also recorded first place finishes at Rio Grande and the Ric Sayre Invitational (Walsh).

Walsh captured five top ten finishes in the win. Ursuline finished 2nd (65), Geneva 3rd (93), Lake Erie 4th (115), Point Park 5th (1270, Thiel 6th (149) and West Liberty 7th (151).

Megan Case (So., Louisville, OH/HS) was next for the Cavs, finishing third in a time of (19:13). Katie Laughlin (Fr., Malvern, OH/Canton South) placed 6th (19:29), Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) 7th (19:32) and Kim Swartz (Fr., Tiffin, OH/Calvert) 8th (20:07).

"Cavs 14th at UW-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational/DiNinno 16th"

Walsh (46-23) performed well, finishing 14th at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational, held today at the Wanye E. Dannehl National Cross Country Cross in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Ferris State University (98) won the 5k race.

Walsh's (382) Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) continued her superb season, with a 16th (316 participants) place finish in a time of 19:07. Megan Case (So., Louisville, OH/HS) was next for the Cavs with a 54th place finish (19:56). Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) finished 84th (20:31), Kim Swartz (Fr., Tiffin, OH/Calvert) 106th (20:48) and Katie Laughlin (Fr., Malvern, OH/Canton South) 122nd (21:09).

Walsh is home for the Walsh Invitational next Saturday at 11 am.

"Cavs Receive Votes"

The Cavs (29-10) received three votes and are ranked 38th in the latest NAIA Top 25.. The Cavs are idle this week and will run at the All-Ohio meet in Delaware, Ohio next week.

"Cavs Take Top 5 Places, Win Rio Invitational/DiNinno First"

Walsh (29-10) captured the top five places to win the University of Rio Grande Invitational today. Walsh (15) bested second place Rio Grande (64) with a perfect score. Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) won the race for the Cavs in a time of 19:30.94.

Kristen LeFever (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) was next (2nd) for the Cavs in a time of 19:39.36. Katie Laughlin (Fr., Malvern, OH/Canton South) finished third (19:48.53), Megan Case (So., Louisville, OH/HS) fourth (20:27.94) and Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) fifth (20:28.93). Erin Koppel (Sr., McDonald, OH/HS) was seventh (20:41.36) and Richards (So., Akron, OH/East) 10th (21:04.93).

"Cavs 7th at National Catholilc Invitational/DiNinno 10th"

(South Bend, IN) Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) paced Walsh (25-10) with an outstanding 10th place finish (19:17) at the 2008 National Catholic Cross Country Invitational, held at the University of Notre Dame today. Walsh (267) finished seventh in the college division in a field of 24 teams.

Kristen LeFever (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) was next for the Cavs with a 22nd place finish in a time of 19:46. Megan Case (So., Louisville, OH/HS) was 43rd (20:25), Molly Triner (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 65th (20:59), Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) 70th (21:03), Chantelle Richards (So., Akron, OH/East) 81st(21:12) and Kim Swartz (Fr., Tiffin, OH/Calvert) 91st (21:23).

"DiNinno Wins; Cavs Second at Ric Sayre Invitational"

Walsh (8-4) finished second (36) in the first-ever Ric Sayre Invitational, held on campus today. Sayre earned NAIA All-American honors for the men's team in the late 1970's and early 1980's. John Carroll University (31) won the event, with the College of Wooster third (67) and Ohio Dominican University fourth (124).

Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) turned in another impressive performance, winning the race in a time of 19:28. Kristen LeFever (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) placed fourth (19:59), Katie Laughlin (Fr., Malvern, OH/Canton South) fifth (20:05), Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) 12th (20:37) and Chantelle Richards (So., Akron, OH/East) 14th (20:43).

"Cavs Finish a Strong Fourth at Bill Sudeck Inviational at Case Western Reserve"

Walsh (6-3) finished a strong fourth at the 10-team Bill Sudeck Inviational at Case Western Reserve University today. Andrea DiNinno (Sr., Harrison City, PA/Greensburg CC) paced the Cavs with an impressive 12th place finish in a time of 20:14. Freshman Katie Laughlin (Malvern, OH/Canton South) was next at 19th in a time of 20:47. Jackie Delamater (So., Uniontown, OH/Hoover) placed 24th (21:00), Megan Case (So., Louisville, OH/HS) 29th (21:07), Kristen LeFever (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) 31st (21:10), Kim Swartz (Fr., Tiffin, OH/Calvert) 48th (21:44) and Molly Triner (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) 61st (22:15).
