"Tuslaw's Ryan Coffman to Golf at Walsh University"

Walsh University Head Golf Coach Anthony Risaliti has announced that Ryan Coffman has signed a NAIA National Letter of Intent to continue his education at Walsh, and golf for the Cavaliers. Coffman is from Tuslaw High School. Walsh is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and competes in the American Mideast Conference (AMC).

Coffman lettered three times at Tuslaw and earned team MVP honors. He averaged 81 as a senior, with a low round of 73. He was also a district qualifier, All-PAC selection and the Tillipaw Individual Medalist. He also earned three track letters for the Mustangs and was on the Merit Roll.

Coffman will major in business.

"Cavs 6th at AMC"

(Howard, OH) Walsh (25-44) finished sixth at the 54-hole American Mideast Conference Championships at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio. Walsh shot 955. Malone University finished first with a 54-hole total of 876.

Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) led the Cavs and tied for 12th at 234 (80-77-77). Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) tied for 20th at 238 (77-80-81), Carl Lemmon (Fr., Canton, OH/Louisville) tied for 25th at 241 (80-80-81), Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) tied for 31st at 245 (81-83-81) and Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) tied for 34th at 246 (79-82-85).

"Cavs 6th After 27 Holes at AMC Championships"

(Howard, OH) Walsh (23-39) is in sixth place after the first 27 holes of the 54-hole American Mideast Conference Championships at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio. Walsh shot 472 and trail Malone University by 39 strokes. The final 27 holes will be played tomorrow.

Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) LEFT carded a 77 and 38, for a 115 total. Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) totaled 117 (80-37), Carl Lemmon (Fr., Canton, OH/Louisville) 120 (80-40), Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) 120 (79-41) and Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) 123 (81-42).

"Cavs at AMC Championships"

Walsh (23-39) will compete in the 54-hole American Mideast Conference Championships this Thursday and Friday at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio. The Cavs finished eighth last year. Walsh won its last AMC crown and made its last NAIA tourney appearance in 2002.

"Cavs 5th at Malone Invitational"

Walsh (23-39) finished fifth at the Malone University Invitational, being held at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance. The Cavs finished with a 36-hole total of 638 (317-321). Malone won with a score of 601.

Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) tied for 22nd at 156 (77-79). Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished 25th at 157 (79-78), Michael Mann (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) tied for 37th at 162 (78-84), Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) tied for 45th at 166 (83-83) and Stephen Ely (Fr., Brunswick, OH/Padua Franciscan) finished 48th at 169 (88-81).

"Cavs Fourth After First Round of Malone Invitational"

Walsh (20-35) is in fourth place after the first round of the 36-hole Malone University Invitational, being held at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance. The final round will be played tomorrow. Davenport University (IA) leads the seven-team field after a first round 296. Malone is a stroke back at 297 and Marian University is third at 302. The Cavs shot 317.

Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) fired a 77 for the Cavs and is tied for 17th. Michael Mann (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) shot a 78 and is tied for 21st. Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) shot a 79 and tied for 26th. Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) is tied for 44th after an 83 and Stephen Ely (Fr., Brunswick, OH/Padua Franciscan) is 52nd after an 88.

"Cavs Finish 8h at Capital"

(Lockboure, OH) Walsh (20-35) finished eighth at the Purple and White Invitational, hosted by Capital University and Foxfire Golf Course. The Cavs shot 672 (337-335). Malone University won the 13-team field event with a two-day total of 604. The Cavs play at the Malone University Invitational next Friday and Saturday at Tannenhauf Golf Course.

Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) paced the Cavs, and tied for 15th, with a two-day total of 159 (81-78).

Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) finished 45th at 171 (81-90), Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) tied for 46th at 172 (89-83), Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) tied for 52nd at 174 (90-84) and Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) tied for 64th at 180 (86-94).

"Walsh 8th After First Round at Capital"

(Lockboure, OH) Walsh (16-28) stands eighth after the first round of the Purple and White Invitational, hosted by Capital University and Foxfire Golf Course. The Cavs shot 337. Malone University leads the 13-team field at 302. The second round will begin Saturday at 9 am.

Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) and Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) are tied for 26th after carding opening round 81's.

Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) is tied for 46th with an 86. Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) shot 89 and is tied for 89th and Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) scored 90 and is tied for 61st.

"Walsh Fourth at MVNU Cougar Classic"

The Walsh University men's golf team (16-28) finished fourth at the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougar Classic held Monday and Tuesday. Ohio Dominican University topped all teams with a score of 616 beating Cedarville University by 15 strokes. The Cavaliers finished with a score of 663, 12 strokes behind hosting Mt. Vernon Nazarene and 46 strokes ahead of Urbana.

Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) was the top individual score for the Cavs finishing tied for 11th with 162 strokes (81, 81). Placing second for the Cavs was Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) with a score of 166 (81, 85), which tied for 18th overall. Carl Lemmon (Fr., Canton, OH/Louisville) tied for 21st with a score of 167 (84, 83), Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished 23rd after a score of 170 (85, 85), and Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) tied for 24th with a score of 171 (83, 88).

"Cavs 4th at John Carroll/Mottice 5th"

Walsh (15-25) finished fourth at the 27-hole John Carroll University Spring Invitational. Malone University shot 413 to win, 32 strokes better than second place John Carroll. Walsh finished fourth at 456, two strokes behind third place Mount Union College.

Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) paced the Cavs with a fifth place finish at 107 (34, 73). Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) tied for 10th at 111(38, 73). Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) tied for 24th at 118 (39, 79), Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) tied for 28th at 120 (39, 81) and Zack Isla (Jr., Canton, OH/St Thomas Aquinas) finished 51st at 147 (47, 100).

Carl Lemmon (Fr., Canton, OH/Louisville) and Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) played as individuals. Lemmon tied for 21st at 117 (38-79) and Deighan tied for 24th at 118 (38, 80).

"Cavs Second at Kenyon"

(Howard, OH) Walsh (12-22) finished second at the 36-hole Kenyon College Invitational held at Apple Valley Golf Course. Madonna University won the 36-hole tournament with a score of 614 (303-311). Walsh finished at 644 (319-325), two strokes ahead of Daemen College and the University of Northwestern Ohio.

Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) fired a final round 78 and tied for seventh at 157 (79-78). Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) tied for 10th at 158 (77-81), Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) tied for 14th at 160 (83-77), Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) tied for 35th at 169 (80-89) and Michael Mann (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) tied for 52nd at 181 (87-94).

"Cavs Tied for 4th at Kenyon Invitational"

(Howard, OH) Walsh (4-21) is tied for fourth place, 16 strokes back of the leader, after the first 18 holes of the Kenyon Invitational being held at Apple Valley Golf Course. Madonna University shot an opening round 303 and leads the University of Northwestern Ohio by 11 strokes. Walsh is tied with Roberts Wesleyan (319) and stand three shots back of third place Daemen College (316). Final round play will begin Sunday morning (9:30 am) with a shotgun start.

Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) led the Cavs and is tied for ninth after shooting 77 (39-38). Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) is tied for 15th at 79 (38-41), Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) fired an 80 and is tied for 22nd, Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) is tied for 34th (83) and Michael Mann (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) is tied for 48th (87).

"Cavs Third at Phipps Memorial Invitational"

Walsh (4-21) finished third at the three-team Phipps Memorial Invitational, played at Glenmoor Country Club today. The Cavs finished shot 331. Malone University finished first (280) and Mount Union College (327) placed second.

Long time residents of Stark County, the Phipps were avid golfers and through the generosity of the Phipps family have made it possible to provide a special opportunity for the men's and women's golf programs at Malone University, Mount Union College and Walsh University.

Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished 11th to pace the Cavs with a 77. Cody Cutright (So., Akron, OH/Springfield) tied for 14th after shooting 80. Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) tied for 20th with an 85. Carl Lemmon (Fr., Canton, OH/Louisville) finished 26th with an 89 and Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) tied for 28th with a 94.

Playing as individuals, Steve Ely (Fr., Brunswick, OH/Padua Franciscan) finished seventh carding a 74 (34-40), the best finish for any Cavalier. Michael Mann (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) placed 13th (79), Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) finished 24th (87) Andy Fox (Fr., Millersburg, OH/West Holmes) was 25th (88) and Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) finished tied for 28th (94).

"Cavs Place 10th at Mt. Union Invite"

Walsh (4-19) finished 10th (635) at the 11-team Mount Union College Fall Invitational this past weekend. The Cavs shot 311 on Saturday, but slipped to 324 today. John Carroll University won the Invitational with a two-day total of 597.

Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) tied for 30th at 156 (77-79) to pace the Cavs. Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) tied for 46th at 159 (75-84), Cody Cutright (So., Akron, OH/Springfield) tied for 50th at 160 (81-79), Michael Mann (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) tied for 56th at 161 (78-83) and Steve Ely (Fr., Brunswick, OH/Padua Franciscan) tied for 79th at 171 (88-83).

Dennis Finneran (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) tied for 61st at 163 (83-80), Carl Lemmon (Fr., Canton, OH/Louisville) tied for 64th at 164 (86-78) and Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) finished 81st at 175 (85-90).

"Cavs (3-10) Seventh at Malone Fall Classic"

Walsh (3-10) finished seventh (636) at the eight-team Malone University Fall Classic, held at Tannenhauf Golf Course on Friday and Saturday. The Cavs shot 320 on Friday and 316 on Saturday. Malone won the event with a 36-hole score of 575. Walsh will play in the Mount Union College Invitational on Sunday and Monday.

Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) paced the Cavs and tied for 24th at 155 (80-75). Cody Cutright (So., Akron, OH/Springfield) tied for 32nd at 158 (83-75), Jacob Repp (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) tied for 40th at 160 (78-82), Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) shot 165 (81-84) good for 45th, Steve Ely (Fr., Brunswick, OH/Padua Franciscan) tied for 46th at 166 (79-87) and Michael Mann (Fr., Louisville, OH/HS) shot 170 (86-84) and finished 57th.

"Cavs (2-4) at Malone Classic"

Walsh returns to the links this weekend, as they play in the Malone University Fall Classic at Tannenhauf Golf Course on Friday and Saturday. The Cavs have been idle since their fifth place finish at the John Carroll University Invitational on September 5.

"Cavs Finish 5th at John Carroll Invitational"

Walsh (2-4) opened the season with a fifth-place finish at the John Carroll University. The Cavs finished with a 27-hole score of 477. The host Blue Streaks finished first, with a score of 446.

Carl Lemmon (Fr., Canton, OH/Louisville) paced the Cavs, finishing tied for 8th with at 112 (38-38-36). Sam Deighan (So., Bedford, OH/St. Peter Chanel) tied for 22nd at 118 (38-41-39). Collin Mottice (So., Manchester, OH/Green) tied for 26th at 120 (41-40-39), Cody Cutright (So., Akron, OH/Springfield) tied for 32nd at 121 (39-41-41), Brant Harbert (Sr., Uniontown, OH/Green) finished 37th at 124 (42-42-40) and Stephen Ely (Fr., Brunswick, OH/Padua Franciscan) tied for 40th at 127 (43-42-42).
