3.10.12 BASEBALL: Cavs Close Florida Trip with Win

(Lake Wales, FL) Walsh improved to 6-9 after closing their Florida trip with a 4-0 win over Thomas University (13-13). The win was the second straight over Thomas.  Walsh returns to action next Saturday with a double header at the University of Findlay.

Danny Roper (Fr., Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) pitched five scoreless innings to even his record at 1-1.  He scattered four hits and fanned two.  Roberts Morales (Sr., Canfield, OH /Cardinal Mooney) and Zach Speer (Jr., Stow, OH/HS) each pitched a scoreless inning to close out the win. 

Tyler Jones (Sr., Mansfield, OH/Madison) gave Walsh a 1-0 lead with a single in the first inning.  Walsh added their second run on a RBI double by Tim Stinson (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) in the fourth inning, and closed the scoring on Forrest Boggs (Jr., Suffield, OH/Field/Mercyhurst) two-run homer in the sixth.

Trevor Smith (Jr., Parma, OH/Holy Name) and Boggs each had two hits and R. J. Vukovich (Jr., N. Canton, OH/Hoover) went 3-3.
