Women's Tennis, 2013-03-15
Walsh dropped its fifth-straight contest as visiting Davenport blanked the Cavs 9-0 at the Hall of Fame Courts Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 4-16 on the season. The Panthers improved to 10-6.
The Cavaliers had a couple opportunities to earn points as both Allison St. George (Sr., Boardman, OH/Cardinal Mooney)) and Arina Kravitz (Fr., Youngstown, OH/Boardman) split sets but lost tiebreakers. St. George won her first set at fourth singles by a score of 6-4, but lost 6-1 in the second set and 10-4 in the tiebreaker. Kravitz also won her first set 7-5 at fifth singles, but lost the second set 6-2. The tiebreaker was also a heartbreaker as she lost 13-11.
The Cavaliers return to action as they travel to Ohio Northern University this Tuesday. They return home for the final home match of the year on Saturday, March 23, against Denison at the Hall of Fame Courts in Canton.
