3.19.11 WOMEN'S TRACK: Cavs Second at Stark County Challenge

Walsh finished in second place at the three-team Stark County Challenge, hosted by the Cavaliers. The University of Mount Union won with a score of 166. The Cavs were next at 163 and Malone University finished third with 150 total points.
The Cavs recorded numerous first place finishes in their only home meet of the season. NAIA Indoor National Qualifier Stephanie Foster (So., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) won the pole vault (11-09.75). Allie Simmons (Jr., Toledo, OH Central Catholic) took first place in the long jump (16-00.25), Sara Stone (sr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) won the hammer (125-08), Leah Beatty the shot put (37-07.25), Molly Martin (So., Canfield) the 400m dash (1:02.02), Dayna Daltorio the 400m hurdles (1:11.13) and the Cavs 4x400m relay team of Sarah Martter (So., Peninsula, OH/Woodbridge), Alison Swarny (So., Bolivar, OH/Tusky Valley) Martin and Daltorio won in a time of 4:15.00.
Lauren Ignazio (Jr., Austintown, OH/Ursuline) finished second in the triple jump (32-07.75) and was a member of the second place 4x100 team (52.46) along with Simmons, Michelle Green (So., Dewitt, IA/Central Clinton) and Elizabeth Emanuel (Jr., Hubbard, OH/Ursuline).
Beatty finished second in the hammer (121-03) and Liz Broome (Fr., Doylestown, OH/Chippewa) in the 100m dash (13.61) and the 200m dash (27.70).
