3.22.12 MEN'S TENNIS: Thomas Picks Up Deciding Point in Win at ODU

Walsh traveled to Ohio Dominican and narrowly defeated the Panthers by a count of 5-4 Wednesday afternoon. The Cavs (8-4) earned the victory over Ohio Dominican (1-10) when Louis Thomas (So., Canton, OH/Jackson) came from behind to defeat his fourth singles opponent Carlos Perez.
Thomas lost the first set 6-4, but rebounded to win the second 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker. Thomas controlled the third and deciding set throughout with a 6-1 result to give the Cavaliers the fifth and match-winning point. Thomas has now won three straight singles matches and is 7-4 overall on the year.
The Cavs took four of the six singles contests with Diego Yung (Sr., Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires), Mark Innes (Sr., Randburg, South Africa/Kings School), and Jon Esber (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) also picking up wins.
Walsh returns to action Saturday as Davenport visits for a match at 10:30 a.m.
