3.23.14 MEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Record Second Straight Shutout

Walsh (10-5, 3-1) recorded its second GLIAC sweep of the weekend, blanking Lake Erie (4-7, 0-5) 9-0 at Hall of Fame Courts this morning. The Cavs blanked Malone 9-0 on Saturday.

Pablo Cabezon (So., Santander, Cantabria, Spain/Calasanz Collegue) won 6-2, 6-2 at first singles, and 8-2 with Carlos Jaque (So., Chijuayante, Concepcion, Chile/Lycee Charles de Gaulle) at first doubles.  Jaque won 6-0, 6-3 at third singles. Ross Whittaker (Fr., Massillon, OH/Lake) won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles, and won 8-4 with Iagos Lucca (Fr., Caxias du Sul/Brazil/Colegio La Salle Caxias) at second doubles.  Lucca won 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles. Alex Portelance (So., Repentigny, Quebec/Felix-Leclerc) won 6-0, 6-1 at fifth sinlges, and won 8-2 with Jose Fernandez (Fr., Sevilla, Spain/Instituto de Educacaion a Distancia) at third singles. Fernandez won 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.

The Cavs are at Grand Valley State on Thursday (9 pm) and at Ferris State on Friday (3 pm) in a pair of GLIAC matches.
