(North Canton, OH) Walsh swept a double header from SUNY Canton (1-17) today to improve to 11-10 on the season.  The Cavs are home to Baldwin-Wallace College for a single game at 4 pm tomorrow.

The Cavs pounded the Kangaroo’s  14-0 in game one, on the strength of a four-run first inning and seven-run fourth.  Lefty Travis Danner (Sr., Medina, OH/HS) was the recipient of the 14-run outburst, and in turn tossed a complete game five-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts.  Walsh’s 14-hit attack was paced Forrest Boggs (Jr., Suffield, OH/Field/Mercyhurst) and R. J. Vukovich (Jr., North Canton, OH/Hoover), who each went 2-3 with a double and three RBI.  Jordan Tucker (Sr., University Hts., OH/Cleveland Hts.) slugged a pinch hit homer, his first of the year.

In the nightcap, Boggs snapped a 1-1 with a solo homer in the fourth inning, his third of the season.  Walsh then put the game away with four runs in the fifth, keyed by Tim Stinson’s (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) two-run triple.  Roberto Morales (Sr., Canfield, OH /Cardinal Mooney) picked-up the win in relief, his first of the season, working three hitless and scoreless innings.  Danny Roper (Fr., Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) started and worked four plus innings, allowing a run on four hits.  Vukovich continued his fine day with three more hits and was 5-6 in the two games.
