3.3.13 WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD: Cavs 4th at 11-Team Savannah State Tiger Relays; Smith, Braun Win Events

(Savannah, GA) Walsh opened the outdoor season with a strong place fourth place finish (71 pts.) in the 11-team Savannah State Tiger Relays, hosted by Savannah State University. The host school won the meet (128 pts.).

Kateline Smith (So., North Lima, OH/South Range) won the 400m hurdles (1:10.95) and finished ninth in the 100m hurdles (17.07), and Kayla Braun (Jr., Hudson, OH/HS) won the javelin (121-01).

Carly Walters (Jr., Twinsburg, OH/Trinity) and Erica Ruddock (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) each earned second place finishes. Walters finished second in the 400m hurdles (1:11.88) and Ruddock in the high jump (4-09.00).

Kaitlyn Stayer (Fr., Mogadore, OH/Field) placed fifth in the 5000m (21:50.22) and Shannon Montgomery (Fr., Newton Falls, OH/HS) was fifth in the discus (119-05). Leah Beatty (Sr., Enon Valley, PA/Mohawk) was seventh in the discus (104-00) and shot put (35-01.00).
