3.30.13 MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: Cavs Finish 5th of 15

At the Washington & Jefferson Invitational, Walsh performed well and came away with a fifth place finish out of 15 total teams. The Cavaliers finished with 62 points, 9.5 behind fourth place Geneseo State. Penn State-Behrend won the event with 161.5 points.

Jordan Groubert (Sr., Hartville, OH/Lake) was the only Cavalier to win an event in team scoring in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:07.58. Justin Eddy (Jr., Massillon, OH/Perry) finished right behind him with a time of 4:10.88. Ryan Christiansen (Jr., Hartville, OH/Lake) finished second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.26. The 4x400 meter relay team of Colin Davis (Sr., Amsterdam, OH/Carrollton), Devon Gates (Jr., Warrenville Heights, OH/HS), Joseph Mikulin (Fr., Akron, OH/Manchester), and Craig Dougherty (Jr., Clinton, OH/Manchester) also finished second with a time of 3:26.86.

Walsh will compete close to home next week as the Cavs make the short trek to Alliance to compete in the Mt. Union “John Homon Open” on Saturday, April 6.
