Softball, 2013-03-04

(Kissimmee, FL) Walsh split a split double header at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Florida today. The Cavs blanked Fayetteville State 4-0 in the first game, but were shutout 2-0 by Concordia-St. Paul in game two. Walsh meets Fayetteville State at 9 am tomorrow, then tangle with Quincy University at 11 am.

Chelsy Testa's (Jr., Uniontown, OH/Lake) bat, and Marissa Bondoni's (Fr., Alliance, OH/HS) right arm provided the firepower in the shutout of Fayetteville State. Testa was 2-3 with a homer, double and two RBI, while Bondoni fanned nine and tossed a two-hitter in her collegiate debut.

Testa doubled and scored on Ashley Starr's (Fr., Bloomingdale, OH/Indian Creek) in the fourth to give Walsh a 1-0 lead. Testa then homered in the sixth and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

Concordia-St. Paul limited the Cavs to a Testa double, for Walsh's only hit, in a 2-0 loss in the second game. CSP scored two runs in the fourth in handing Erin Ebert (Sr., Jeromesville, OH/Hillsdale) her first loss of the season.
