3.4.13 MEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Shutout Ave Maria

(TAMPA, Fla.) – Walsh found itself back in the win column following a 9-0 shutout of hapless Ave Maria Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers (3-6) were playing in their first of three matches on spring break. They will return to action against Southeastern University on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

The match was never in doubt with the closest contest coming at first singles were Pablo Cabezon (Fr., Santander, Cantabria, Spain/Calasanz Collegue) defeated the Gyrenes’ Leo Duval 6-4, 6-3. Cabezon, Louis Thomas (Jr., Canton, OH/Jackson), and Alex Portelance (Fr., Repentigny, Quebec/Felix-Leclerc) all won two matches in the event. Cabezon and Thomas paired up at first doubles for a 9-0 win. Thomas then won 6-3, 6-1 at second singles, and Portelance won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles.
