3.5.12 BASEBALL: Walsh Drops Both Ends of Split Double Header

(Babson Park, FL) Walsh fell to 3-5 after losing both ends of a split twin bill today. Walsh lost 4-2 to Ave Maria this afternoon and 5-4 to Webber International under the lights tonight. The Cavs play the same two teams tomorrow at 2:30 pm (Ave Maria) and 7 pm (Webber).
Travis Danner (Sr., Medina, OH/Cuyahoga Falls) started game one, and was relieved by Zach Speer (Jr., Stow, OH/HS) who was charged with the loss. Ave Maria scored two late runs to break a 2-2 tie. Tim Stinson (Sr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) had two hits and Steve Wido (Jr., North Royalton, OH/Padua Franciscan) had two hits including a double. Kyler King (Jr., Uniontown, OH/Lake) and Tyler Jones (Jr., Parma, OH/Holy Name) each drove in a run.
Joe Tann (Fr., Canton, OH/Canton Central Catholic) started game two and was relieved by Neal Edwards (Fr., Silver Lake, OH/Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) who took the loss. Forrest Boggs (Jr., Suffield, OH/Field/Mercyhurst) had a two-run double and solo homer. Webber scored five runs in their final two at-bats to wipe out a 3-0 Walsh lead.
