3.8.12 BASEBALL: Cavs Split Twinbill

Walsh (4-8) split a split double header today.  In game one, the Cavs defeated Purdue-North Central 4-2, but then lost 6-5 to Warner Southern.  The Cavs are back in action tomorrow, meeting Bellevue University at 9:30 am and Thomas College at 12:30 pm.

Billy Gura (Sr., Sagamore Hills, OH/St. Peter Chanel) pitched six strong innings to improve to 2-1 in the opener.  Ian Drapcho (So., Dover) worked the seventh to pick-up the save.  Tim Stinson (Jr., Alliance, OH/Marlington) doubled and drove in two runs and Sam Fondriest (So., Dover, OH/TCC) had two hits and an RBI.

Walsh scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but couldn’t hold on in falling 6-5 to Warner.  Warner snapped the 6-6 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning. David Roper (Jr., Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) worked the first six innings. Drapcho came on in relief and was charged with the loss.
