4.1.13 MEN'S LACROSSE: Cavs Duo Earn ECAC Player of the Week Honors

(CENTERVILLE, Mass.) – A pair of Walsh Cavaliers have been named ECAC Division II Lacrosse players of the week for the week of April 1. Nicholas Colston (So., 5-11, North Canton, OH/Hoover) earned co-Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Adam King (Fr., 5-10, Green, OH/HS) earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Colston recorded five ground balls and a caused turnover for the Cavaliers in their big victory over Wilmington last Wednesday. He also added an assist on the first goal of game less than two minutes into the contest. Seton Hill’s goalkeeper Chris Isle was the other co-Defensive Player of the Week.

King played a great game all over the field as he scored two goals and one assist in the win. On the defensive end, King tallied five ground balls and was 9-of-15 on face-offs to lead the team.

The Offensive Player of the Week went to Taylor Mansfield from Seton Hill. The Specialist of the Week was Mitch McAvoy from Mercyhurst.

The Cavs will return to action as they host Lindenwood (Mo.) in an ECAC Division II Lacrosse League game at Vasco Field on Thursday with a 7 p.m. start.
