4.1.14 BASEBALL: Cavs Sweep Northwood; Clark Drives in Seven Runs

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) Brook Clark (So., Canton, OH/McKinley) drove in seven runs, as Walsh (12-15, 4-15) swept a GLIAC double header from Northwood University by the scores of 14-5 and 8-3. The two teams complete the three-game series at noon tomorrow with a single game, which will be broadcast live on TEAMLINE.

Clark got the Cavs going with a three-run homer to left in the first inning of game one. Walsh led 4-1 after one, and 9-2 after two innings. Michael Lee (Sr., Barberton, OH/HS), who hit two homeruns on Sunday, then hit a three run shot in the second. Clark would double in two more runs, as would Lee, as the Cavs banged out 15 hits in the opener. Clark was 2-2 with two walks and four RBI, and Lee was 3-3 with five RBI. Andrew Stalnaker (Fr., Massillon, OH/Jackson) was 3-4 with two RBI. Joe Tann (Jr., Canton, OH/Canton Central Catholic) started and picked up the win to improve to 2-3. Tann went five innings.

In the nightcap, Clark again provided the spark in the first inning with a two-run single to give the Cavs a 2-1 lead. Walsh led 5-2 in the sixth, when they put the game away with three runs. Clark singled again to make it 6-2 and Jason McPeek (So., Stow, OH/Munroe-Falls) singled in two more to give Walsh an 8-2 lead. Brandon Whitslar (Jr., Seville, OH/Cloverleaf) started and worked the first six innings to improve to 4-1. He fanned seven and scattered six hits.
