4.10.2010 WOMEN'S TRACK: Cavs 3rd at MTU; Cofojohn Double Winners, Break Records

Women's Track & Field, 2010-04-10

Walsh finished third at the Mount Union College Open with 95.5 points today. Malone University won the event with 137.50 points and host Mount Union finished second with 124 points.

Danielle Cofojohn (Sr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) posted first place finishes in the shot put (45'10", "A" Standard, 5th NAIA) and discus (141'10", "A" Standard, 7th NAIA) for the second consecutive week. Cofojohn also shattered her own shot mark of 44'6" set last year.

Amanda Bennett (Fr., Tallmadge, OH/HS) took first in the high jump (5'5.75) and broke her record of 5'5" set last week.

Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) finished second in the pole vault (11'0"), and Kim Swartz (So., Tiffin, OH/Tiffin Calvert) was second in the 3000m steeplechase. (12:33.08).

Natalie Borland (Sr., Kent, OH/Roosevelt) finished third in the high jump (5'1.75), Holly Gospodinsky (Jr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) third in the shot put (12.31m) and Kristi Havens (Jr., Wadsworth,OH/HS) third in the 1500m run (4:57.40m).

Walsh will host the American Mideast Conference Track and Field Championships next Friday and Saturday.
