4.11.12 SOFTBALL: Cavs Battery Duo Earn AMC Weekly Honors

Kelsey Ford (Sr., Boardman, OH/HS) and Crystal Pfleger (Jr., Mogadore, OH/Field) have been named the American Mideast Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week for April 2-8.  Ford recorded wins against Houghton and Urbana during the week. Pfleger posted a .750 batting average as the Cavaliers went 5-1.

Ford hurled a five-inning no-hitter in a 12-0 win over Houghton in which she struck out nine without walking a batter. It was the second perfect game pitched in the program’s history. In a 7-2 victory at Urbana, she allowed two earned runs on eight hits with 10 K’s and one walk.

In three games played, Pfleger was 6-for-8 at the plate. She delivered four doubles, seven RBI’s, and scored four runs.
