4.16.11 MEN'S TRACK: Cavs 4th at AMC Championships; Heck, Schrecengost All-AMC

(Cedarville, OH) Walsh finished in fourth place (119.50) at the American Mideast Conference Track and Field Championships held at Cedarville University. Host Cedarville finished first (299.50), Malone University placed second (207.50) and Notre Dame College was third (152).

Brad Schrecengost (Sr., Cortland, OH/Lakeview) and Evan Heck (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) pictured earned first-team All-AMC honors by winning their respective events. Schrecengost (Sr., Cortland, OH/Lakeview) repeated as the AMC hammer champion with a toss of 166-11, while Heck won the 800m run (1:59.10).

Brian Williams (Sr., Canton, OH/McKinley) earned second-team All-AMC after his second place finish in the 110m hurdles (14.60).

Walsh's three relay teams all finished second in their events. The Cavs 400m relay team of Heck, Chris Weirtz (Sr., Hudson, OH/Western Reserve), John Schweinfurth (Jr., Medina, OH/HS), and Chris Wilson (Fr., Melbourne, Australia/Swiburne) placed third in a time of 3:30.20. Williams, Schweinfurth, Wilson and Dan Harsh (Jr., Perry, OH/HS) finished third in the 4x100m (43.89) and Heck, Chase Harshbarger (So., Akron, OH/Archbishop Hoban), Ryan Garrott (Jr., Georgetown, TX/HS) and Chris Noussias (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished third in the 4x800m (7:53.17).
