4.16.12 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Lead OIC by 20 Strokes After First Round

Walsh leads the Ohio Independent Championships by 20 strokes with its closest competitor being Malone after one round of play. The Cavaliers have  a total team score of 345 with three golfers in the top five and all five in the top 10.

Jenny Tsangeos (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) currently leads the Cavs with a first round score of 82 divided evenly between the front and back nines. Katy Collins (Sr., Youngstown, OH/Ursuline) sits one spot back in third by a pair of strokes. Abbey Kimar (Sr., Canton, OH/Jackson) is tied for fourth with an 88 (46-42) with Katie Kohut (Jr., Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) who is playing independently and shot a 39 on the back nine.

Morgan Jackson  (Fr., Uniontown, OH/Green) is tied for sixth with a 91 (45-46) and Kim Smith (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunderdon Central) is tied for eighth with a 92 (45-47).

The final round is tomorrow at the Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio.
