4.16.13 MEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Weather Storm

(Canton, OH) Walsh (6-15, 2-9) got back in the win column with a 8-1 GLIAC over Lake Erie College (1-15, 0-11) at Hall of Fame Courts today. The Cavs close the season on Saturday at Case Western Reserve University at 2 pm.

The Cavs swept doubles play and won five of six singles matches in breaking a modest two-match skid. Walsh has split its last four matches.

Pablo Cabezon (Fr., Santander, Cantabria, Spain/Calasanz Collegue) and Carlos Jacque (Fr., Chijuayante, Concepcion, Chile/Lycee Charles de Gaulle) won 8-4 at first doubles. Alex Portelance (Fr., Repentigny, Quebec/Felix-Leclerc) and Nigel Nabuurs (Fr., New Market, Ontario/Huron Heights Secondary) then posted an 8-3 win at second doubles and Chase Pucci (Sr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Josh Gambow (Jr., Hartville, OH/Lake) won 8-1 at third doubles.

Portelance won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles. Jaque won 6-1, 6-0 at third singles, Pucci posted a 6-3, 6-1 win at fourth singles, Nabuurs won 6-1, 6-0 at number five and Gambow won 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
