4.16.2010 MEN'S TRACK: Morgan AMC Long Jump Champ; Williams Qualifies for Finals in Two Events

Joe Morgan (Jr., Canton, OH/McKinley) set a new American Mideast Conference long jump record today, with a leap 24-01.50, to win the event. Morgan was the only Cavalier to capture AMC First-Team honors after day one of the track and field championships being held at Walsh.

Malone University leads the field with 94.5 points, with Notre Dame College second (61), defending champion Cedarville University third (53) and Walsh fourth (33). The championships resume at 9:30 am tomorrow morning.

Brian Williams (Sr., Canton, OH/McKinley) qualifed for the finals in the 110m hurdles (14.56) and the 100m dash (11.48). The 110m hurdles will be held at 12:25 and the100m dash at 1 pm.

Dan Harsh (So., Perry, OH/HS) finished third in the long jump (21-08.75).
