4.16.2010 WOMEN'S TRACK: Cavs Lead Field at AMC Championships; Cofojohn Double Winner, Bennett, Foster Also AMC Champions

Walsh leads the American Mideast Conference Track and Field Championships after the first day of competition. Walsh has 89 points and leads second place and defending champion Malone University by 13 points. Cedarville University is a distant third with 31 points. The championship meet resumes at Walsh on Saturday morning at 9:30.
Danielle Cofojohn (Sr., Diamond, OH/Southeast) earns All-AMC honors after winning both the shot put (42-06.75) and discus (139-04). Cofojohn was second-team All-AMC in the shot last year.
Amanda Bennett (Fr., Tallmadge, OH/HS) left earned first-team All-AMC honors by winning the high jump (5-01.75) and Stephanie Foster (Fr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) in the pole vault (11-00.25).
Natalie Borland (Sr., Kent, OH/Roosevelt) finished second in the high jump (4-11.75). Michelle Green qualifed for the finals in the 100m dash (13.23), with the finals being at 1:05 tomorrow.
