4.17.12 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Win OIC; Tsangeos Medalist

(Howard, OH)  Walsh (57-24) has captured the Ohio Independent Championships played at Apple Valley Course.  The Cavs totaled 680 (345-335) and defeated second place Malone University (732) by 52 strokes,  Jenny Tsangeos (Fr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) finished as medalist with a 36-hole total of 164 after firing back-to-back 82's. 

Katy Collins (Sr., Youngstown, OH/Ursuline) finished third at 169 (84-85), Abbey Kimar (Sr., Canton, OH/Jackson) finished fourth at 172 (88-84), Morgan Jackson  (Fr., Uniontown, OH/Green) was fifth at 175 (91-84) and Kim Smith (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunderdon Central) placed sixth at 178 (92-85).

Katie Kohut (Jr., Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) who played as an independent finished seventh at 178 (88-90).
