4.17.12 MEN'S GOLF: Cavs Finish Third in AMC Championships

Walsh finished third out of four teams in the American Mideast Conference Championships at Chautuaqua Golf Club Lake Course in Mayville, N.Y. on Saturday and Sunday. The Cavaliers (32-22) led after the first round with a total team score of 301, one stroke ahead of hosting Daemen. The final standings had Point Park with a two-day total of 605, just ahead of Daemen at 607. First-round leader Walsh University ended up third at 610. Roberts Wesleyan was way out of contention after 18 holes, and its final score was 664.
Dennis Finneran (Jr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) led the Cavs with a two-round total of 150 (75-75). He was tied for third individually overall. Blake Foutty (Fr., Canal Fulton, OH/Northwest), who tied for fifth overall, was one stroke back with a 74 on Saturday and 77 on Sunday. Cody Cutright (Sr., Akron, OH/Springfield) carded a 152 (74-78), Carl Lemmon (Jr., Canton, OH/Louisville) shot a 158 (79-79), and Brandon Shannon (Fr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH/Woodridge) rounded out the team with a score of 160 (78-82).
