4.18.12 WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Sweep Lake Erie

Walsh defeated visiting Lake Erie College in a clean 9-0 shutout at the Klekotka Tennis Complex Wednesday afternoon. The Cavaliers (13-5) were immediate control as the Storm (0-16) were forced to concede three points because of not having enough players.
Shellie Webster (Jr., Lexington, OH/HS) and Alisha Angle (Fr., Lexington, OH/HS) both increased their current singles winning streaks to four as both defeated their opponents by identical scores of 6-1, 6-1. Kayla Shaheen (Jr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) won in third singles 6-1, 6-1, and Rebeka Beresh (Sr., North Canton, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) won fourth singles 6-3, 6-3. Fifth and sixth singles were awarded to Walsh via forfeit.
In doubles action, Shaheen and Allison St. George (Jr., Boardman, OH/Cardinal Mooney) won 8-1 in the first slot. Jaclyn DiDomenico (So., Canfield, OH/Cardinal Mooney) and Abigail Svetlak (Fr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) won at second doubles by the same score. Third doubles were given to Walsh by forfeit.
The Cavs are off until Saturday when they play host to Case Western and Wittenberg starting at 8 a.m.
