Women's Soccer, 2014-04-02

Walsh University Women’s Soccer Head Coach David Renard has added one additional student-athlete to his roster as Amy Gilmore has signed a National Letter of intent to join the Cavs in 2014-15.

Gilmore, a 5’6” center mid from Springboro, Ohio, earned four letters as captain at Bishop Fenwick High School. While there, Amy led her team to Great Catholic League North Championships in 2010 and 2013. In 2011, 2012, and 2013 Bishop Fenwick won District and Regional Championships earning a trip to the Ohio State Semi-Finals in all three years. In 2012, they were crowned Division III State Champions. For 2013, Gilmore was named First Team Great Catholic League, First Team All-Miami Valley, First Team All-State, and All-Region IV. She was also a NSCAA Senior Excellence Award Recipient. Gilmore plays her club soccer with Ohio Elite Academy. Amy is a member of National Honor Society and will major in International Relations at Walsh.

“Amy’s best asset is her ability to read and understand the game," said Coach Renard. "She’s also a very skillful and athletic player. Because of her versatility and commitment on both sides of the ball, Amy can play any position on the field and we expect her to have a big impact for us early on.”
