4.20.13 MEN'S LACROSSE: Cavs Defeated by Wheeling Jesuit

Walsh had trouble with visiting Wheeling Jesuit and was defeated by a score of 21-6 in its penultimate home game of the regular season. The Cavaliers (2-7, 0-6) will look the end the season on a high note against Alderson-Broaddus a week from today. The Cardinals improve to 10-5 overall and even out their conference record to 3-3.

Wheeling Jesuit came out on fire and scored the game’s first 13 goals. It wasn’t until the 7:21 mark of the second quarter that Walsh was able to light up the scoreboard with a goal by Mason Axline (Jr., 5-7, Green, OH/HS). He added another goal just before the first half ended and finished the day with four goals.

Adam King (Fr., 5-10, Green, OH/HS) and Ian Maurer (Jr., 6-2, Jackson, OH/HS) also added goals for the Cavs.

The Cavaliers will host the Alderson-Broaddus Battlers in their final game of their inaugural season a week from today. The Senior Day game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
