(LYNDHURST, Ohio) – Walsh split a non-conference doubleheader with a 6-1 win in the opener before a 5-1 defeate in the second. The Cavaliers are now 26-17. The Falcons are now 20-26-1.

Game One went to the Cavs after they exploded for five runs in the fifth inning. The scoring barrage was sparked by five consecutive hits. Jenna Head (Fr., Mantua, OH/Crestwood) later scored Marissa Bondoni (So., Alliance, OH/HS) on a single to second. Simon and Head later scored after a throwing error by the shortstop.

Notre Dame eventually got on the scoreboard with a run in the sixth, but Walsh added an insurance run when Simon scored on a double to left field by Rachel Dedinsky (Sr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH/St. Vincent-St. Mary) in the top of the 7th to set up the final score.
