4.26.14 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Slip To Seventh on Second Day of GLIACs

(NEW ALBANY, Ohio) - Scoring improved on the second day of the GLIAC Championships at Winding Hollow Golf Club, but Walsh found itself drop a spot from yesterday’s standings to seventh. Grand Valley continues to lead the field by 17 strokes. Ashland, Ferris State, Findlay, and Northwood round out the top five.

Meghan Hatfield (So., North Canton, OH/Jackson) was the top golfer for the Cavaliers on Day 2 as she shot an 81. She is second on the team in the two-day scoring with a 169. Jenny Tsangeos (Jr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) shot an 84 today and has a 166 thus far in the event to still lead the Cavaliers. She’s 17 overall in the individual standings.

Kayla Hardesty (So., Minerva, OH/Marlington) and Amanda Griffin (Jr., Tallmadge, OH/HS) both improved upon yesterday’s scores by a couples strokes with an 85 and 90, respectively. Paige Victor (Fr., Mentor, OH/HS) carded a 97 and has a 187 over two days. 

Ohio Dominican is currently in sixth place. Lake Superior state, Tiffin, and Malone round out the team standings in eighth through tenth places.

The GLIAC Championships will conclude tomorrow with the final round starting at 8 a.m.
