4.27.12 WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Edge Cedarville 5-4 for OIC Title

Walsh narrowly edged rival Cedarville by a count of 5-4 to claim the Ohio Independent Championship this afternoon. The Cavaliers (15-5) took two of three doubles matches to start the event before splitting the six singles matches with the hosting Yellow Jackets (13-12). Overall, Walsh won its final six contests to close out the season.

Shellie Webster (Jr., Lexington, OH/HS) and Alisha Angle (Fr., Lexington, OH/HS) finished the season with six straight wins in singles action and won their fifth straight at first doubles. Allison St. George (Jr., Boardman, OH/Cardinal Mooney) was the third Cavaliers player to tally a point. She teamed up with Kayla Shaheen (Jr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) for a win at second doubles.
