4.27.14 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Wrap Up Season Seventh at GLIACs; Tsangeos HM All-GLIAC

(NEW ALBANY, Ohio) - Walsh finished seventh in the GLIAC Championships with three-day score of 1037 at Winding Hollow Golf Club this weekend. Grand Valley took home the championship with a score of 943 with the top two individual golfers. Ferris State was second with a score of 976. Findlay, Ashland, and Northwood made up the rest of the top five.
The Cavaliers’ No. 3 golfer ended up being their No. 1 as Meghan Hatfield (So., North Canton, OH/Jackson) finished the weekend with a 248, which included a 79 in her final round. She was the only Walsh golfer to score in the 70s and finished 15th overall. Jenny Tsangeos (Jr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) was just a stroke behind her and 16th overall as she scored 249 during the weekend and scored an 83 on the final day. She was named honorable mention All-GLIAC.
Kayla Hardesty (So., Minerva, OH/Marlington) scored a 266, Amanda Griffin (Jr., Tallmadge, OH/HS) scored a 276, and Paige Victor (Fr., Mentor, OH/HS) scored a 282 for the tournament. Hardesty and Griffin both carded a 94 on the final day. Victor had a 95.
Walsh finished ahead of Lake Superior State (1066), Tiffin (1122), and Malone (1156) in the 10-team championship. Ohio Dominican edged the Cavs for sixth place by four strokes.
