4.27.14 WOMEN'S LACROSSE: Cavs Fall to Storm; Look Ahead to Playoffs

Women's Lacrosse, 2014-04-27

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - Walsh closed out the regular season with a 14-2 loss to Lake Erie on Sunday afternoon at Vasco Field. The Storm (10-7, 7-1) jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the first half and limited the Cavaliers’ (6-8, 3-5) offense for the entire game.

Aly Jajack (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Maria Nobile (Fr., Westerville, OH/Olentangy Orange) came up with the goals for the Cavaliers. Jajack scored with 10:10 left in the game on a free position shot. Nobile’s goal came unassisted with 3:48 left and was the last goal of the game.

The Cavaliers did have the unfortunate luck of having multiple shots slipping past the Lake Erie goalkeeper only to hit the post or crossbar in hopes of making it a closer game.

Both teams have already clinched a playoff spot in the conference tournament. The Cavaliers will be the No. 6 seed in the tournament and will travel to Tiffin on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
