4.3.11 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Place Second at Cancer Classic

(Pataskala, OH) NAIA No. 21 Walsh (37-11) finished second behind champion Ferris State at the 36-hole Give 18 Fore Cancer Classic, held at Cumberland Trail GC. Walsh finished with a two-day total of 667, after shooting 334 on Saturday and 333 today. Kim Smith (Jr., Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) paced the Cavs with a third place finish. Smith totaled 160, after shooting a 77 on Saturday and 83 on Sunday.
Katy Collins (Jr., Youngstown, OH/Ursuline) was next for Walsh with a seventh place finish at 165 (79-86). Abbey Kimar (Jr., Canton, OH/Jackson) fired a final round 78 and finished at 169 (91-78, good for 12th place. Kelsey Ozanich (So., Warren, OH/Howland) finished 20th at 173 (87-86) and Nikki Kulasa (Jr., Amherst, OH/Amherst Steele) placed 28th at 181 (91-90)
The Cavs compete in the American Mideast Conference Championships next Monday and Tuesday at Berkshire GC in Cumberland, OH.
