4.5.14 WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD: Cavs Get Two Firsts On First Day Of John Homon Open

(ALLIANCE, Ohio) - Walsh competed the first day of the John Homon Open hosted by the University of Mount Union took place today. The event resumes tomorrow as the field events took place today along with the 5,000 meter run.

The Cavs had a few place winners on the first day. Stephanie Foster (Sr., Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) easily won the pole vault once again with a height of 3.85 meters, or 12 feet, 7.5 inches, over a foot better than the second place finisher. Evan Haney (So., Copley, OH/HS) won first place in the high jump with a height of 1.52 meters, or 4 feet, 11.75 inches. In the 5,000 meter run, Kelesey Dickey (Jr., Cortland, OH/Lakeview) finished third with a time of 19:13.95.

The John Homon Open will resume tomorrow with the track events taking place.
