5.2.12 SOFTBALL: Cavs Meet Urbana in OIC Opener

Second-seeded Walsh (34-16) will play third-seeded Urbana University (21-26) at 1 pm on Thursday in the first round of the double-elimination Ohio Independent Championships, hosted by Notre Dame College.  Urbana won their play-in game, 9-1 in five innings, against Ursuline College.  If Walsh wins, they advance to play at 11 am on Friday.  If the Cavs lose, they come back at 5 pm on Thursday to meet the loser of the Notre Dame (16-18)/Cedarville (34-19) game.  The Falcons are the top-seeded team of the championships.

Walsh split with Urbana in the regular season.  The AMC champion Cavs have won six of their last seven games.
