5.21.14 Walsh Athletes Excel in the Classroom
Walsh University is proud to announce the accomplishments of their 513 student-athletes for the 2014 spring semester. Walsh's student-athletes combined to record a 3.124 GPA, as 14 teams recorded GPA's above 3.00.
The combined GPA average for the women's teams was a 3.366 while the combined average for all men's teams was a 2.981.
Walsh's Women's Volleyball posted a 3.541 GPA, the highest among all teams. On the men's side, the men's soccer team registered the top mark at 3.373.
Sixty-three percent of Walsh's 513 student-athletes accumulated a GPA of 3.00 or higher, and thirty-five percent were represented on the Dean's List.
Walsh had 18 women and 12 men with a 4.00 GPA.
"As always, we are extremely proud of our student-athletes as they continue to do a remarkable job in the classroom," stated Vice President of Athletics/Athletic Director Dale Howard. "Their commitment to excellence in the classroom is the driving force behind our success in the academic world and athletic arena. Our coaches should be commended for encouraging our athletes to place academics first."
