5.6.14 WOMEN'S GOLF: Tsangeos Finishes East Super Regional

(NOBLESVILLE, Ind.) – Jenny Tsangeos (Jr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) wrapped up the NCAA Division II East Super Regional after she scored an 85 on the final round at Purgatory Golf Course. She entered the day in 10th place, but dropped to finish tied for 20th individually out of 49 golfers. Tsangeos had a three-day score of 241 after she carded a 78 the first two days. She was 25-over-par for the tournament.
Tsangeos finished the front nine four-over par with bogeys on the third, sixth, seventh, and ninth holes. The back nine proved to be a bit more difficult for her as she had five bogeys and two double bogeys. She was 13-over-par for the day. She was six strokes away from being in the top 10.
Grand Valley’s Kelly Hartigan won the event with an overall score of 221. Jaclyn Schindler of Indianapolis was the runner-up with a 225. Both players represented teams that tied for first in the team standings.
Out of the four individuals competing without a team, Tsangeos was second of the quartet. Wheeling Jesuit’s Kasey Frazier finished tied for sixth overall with a 233. Ohio Dominican’s Jamie Ellison tied for 38th with a 251. Steph Peareth of Concord (W.Va.) finished 40th with a 252.
