The Walsh men's golf team finished fourth and Brandon Shannon (Fr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH/Woodridge) medaled at the Pat Poppy Fall John Carroll University Invitational held Sunday and Monday. The Cavaliers (4-3) finished with an overall score of 452, two strokes behind of Baldwin-Wallace and two strokes ahead of Mount Union. Otterbein won the competition with a score of 447. Shannon shot a 73 on the first day and a 34 today to win top individual honors. He was two strokes behind after Sunday, but outshot second-place Steve Spalding by four strokes on Monday. Dennis Finneran (Jr., Wadsworth, OH/HS), who played as a part of the Cavaliers' B-team, finished tied for fourth overall with a score of 111 after scoring a 75 Sunday and a 36 today.
Blake Foutty (Fr., Canal Fulton, OH/Northwest) finished 14th overall with a score of 113 (73-40), Collin Mottice (Sr., Manchester, OH/Green) scored a 116 (78-38), and Steve Ely (Jr., Brunswick, OH/Padua Franciscan) shot a 116 (78-38) as a member of the B-team to round out individuals that finished in the top 25.
