9.15.12 VOLLEYBALL: Cavs Take First Set but Fall to Ohio Dominican 3-1

Walsh won the first set against Ohio Dominican, but couldn’t stop the Panthers from coming back to take the next three as the Cavaliers fell 25-18, 27-29, 19-25, 17-25. The Cavs are now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the GLIAC. Ohio Dominican is now 5-4 overall and also stand at 1-1 in the conference.

Krissy Sokol (Jr., 5-9, Akron, OH/Hoban) led the team in kills with 17 and Paige Chandler (Jr., 6-0, Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) recorded the most blocks with four. Emilee Muzechuk (Fr., 5-9, Mansfield, OH/Madison) and Devin Hummel (Fr., 5-8, Shelby, OH/HS) tied for team-high honors in digs with 14.

The Cavs now return for their home-opener against the Alderson-Broaddus Battlers on Tuesday. The non-conference match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
