9.23.13 WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Blank Malone

(NORTH CANTON, OH) In front of largest crowd to witness a Walsh University women's tennis match at home, the Cavs won their sixth straight match with a resounding 9-0 whitewash of rival Malone University. Walsh is now 6-2 overall and 6-2 in the GLIAC. Malone falls to 1-8 overall and to 0-7 in the GLIAC.  The Cavs are in fifth place in the GLIAC and are idle until October 4, when they travel to Columbus to meet Ohio Dominican University in a GLIAC match. The Cavs last six GLIAC matches are all on the road.

Alisha Angle (Jr. Lexington, OH/HS) and Alona Skobkina (Fr., Tarragona, Spain/Instituto Espan de Andorra) both extended singles winning streaks. Angle, now 6-2 on the year, won at fourth singles and has won her last six matches. Skobkina won at third singles and is 5-3 on the year and has won her last five matches.

Angle and Daria Bondareva (Fr., Sankt-Petersburg, Russia/HS) won 8-1 at second doubles and stand 5-2 with five straight wins.
