9.25.12 VOLLEYBALL: Cavs Fall in Four at Malone

Walsh dropped to 3-7 overall and to 1-4 in the GLIAC after falling in four sets at Malone University (7-4, 3-2) tonight.  The Cavs have now dropped their last three matches.  Walsh is back in GLIAC action on Friday, when they host Northwood University (10-3, 5-0) at 7 pm.  The match will be broadcast live on TEAMLINE.  On Saturday, the Cavs host GLIAC foe Hillsdale College (2-9, 3-2) at 2 pm.

After dropping the first set 19-25, Walsh evened the match with a 26-24 win.  Malone gained control with a 25-21 win and rallied from deficits of 11-6 and 22-20 in the fourth set to win 25-22.  Julianne O’Donnell (5-10, Sr., Willowick, OH/Lake Catholic) led the Cavs with 11 kills to go with 13 digs.  Paige Chandler (6-0, Jr., Cincinnati, OH/McKinley had a team-high 13 digs to go with nine kills. Hannah Duran (5-9, Sr., Elyria, OH/Midview) recorded 34 assists.  Krissy Sokol (5-9, Jr., Akron, OH/Archbishop Hoban) had 10 digs and three blocks and Brittany Morris (5-11, Sr., North Royalton, OH/Padua Franciscan) had eight kills.
