9.26.12 WOMEN'S GOLF: Jackson Places Fourth at Lake Erie Invite

Walsh finished third out of six teams in the Qdoba-Lake Erie Invitational that took place on Sunday and Monday at the Madison Country Club. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 692, nine strokes off of first place Northwood. It was an all-GLIAC event as Ohio Dominican finished second with a score of 690, Lake Superior State finished fourth with a score of 736, Malone placed fifth with a 739, and Tiffin was sixth with a 741.

Morgan Jackson (So., Uniontown, OH/Green) paced the Cavs (11-5) with a two-day score of 168, good for fourth overall. She carded an 85 on Sunday and followed that up with an 83 the next day. Katie Kohut (Sr., Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) was one stroke back overall with an 84 and 85, which placed her in a tie for fifth overall. Jenny Tsangeos (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) shot a 170 with an 87 and 83 for a seventh place finish.

Megan Hatfield (Fr., North Canton, OH/Jackson) tied for eighth overall with a total score of 171 and shot an 87 on Sunday and an 84 on Monday. Amanda Griffin (So., Tallmadge, OH/HS) placed 20thwith a score of 184 (96/88). Kayla Hardesty (Fr., Minerva, OH/Marlington) rounded out the team with a score of 188 (95/93).

Northwood’s Brittany Davidson was the medalist with a score of 159 across the two days.

The Cavaliers return to the greens this Friday at Grand Valley State University where they will play at Meadows Golf Course. The event will last through Sunday.
