9.28.13 WOMEN'S GOLF: Tsangeos Leads Cavs in Laker Invite

(ALLENDALE, Mich.) - Walsh ended the first day of the Gilda's Club Laker Invitational sixth out of 13 teams participating in the event hosted by Grand Valley State University. The Cavaliers ended Day 1 with a score of 342, six strokes behind Ashland and two strokes ahead of Ohio Dominican. The hosting Lakers currently lead the field with a score of 318.

Jenny Tsangeos (Jr., Canton, OH/GlenOak) is the first-day leader for the Cavs as she carded a 79 comprised of a 39 on the front nine and a 40 on the back. Her score has her presently placed in a tie for fifth place individually.

Rounding out the top five for the Cavaliers were Raven Venegas (Fr., Lima, OH/Shawnee) with an 81, Kayla Hardesty (So., Minerva, OH/Marlington) with a 90, Paige Victor (Fr., Mentor, OH/HS) with a 92, and Meghan Hatfield (So., North Canton, OH/Jackson) with a 95.
