9.30.12 WOMEN'S GOLF: Cavs Jump Up Two Spots to Finish 10th at Laker Invite

Walsh jumped up a couple of spots to finish 10thout of 14 teams in the Gilda’s Club Laker Invite hosted by Grand Valley State University yesterday and today. The Cavaliers finished with a two-day team score of 693 and edged out Ohio Dominican by four strokes and were eight strokes behind ninth-place Upper Iowa. Ashland won the event with a score of 634.
Morgan Jackson (So., Uniontown, OH/Green) led the Cavs as she carded an 82 today to finish with a total score of 162 to tie for 11th. Jenny Tsangeos (So., Canton, OH/GlenOak) tied for 33rdoverall with a score of 170 as she shot 85 on both days. Katie Kohut (Sr., Twinburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) was next in line for Walsh with a score of 178 after shooting a 94 on the day. Kayla Hardesty (Fr., Minerva, OH/Marlington) scored a 186 overall with a round of 90 today, including a birdie on Hole 2. Megan Hatfield (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) rounded out the team score with a 190 after shooting 97 today.
Amanda Griffin (So., Tallmadge, OH/HS) participated individually and finished with a score of 186 to tie her with Hardesty overall. Griffin shot a 92 yesterday and a 94 today.
The Cavaliers return to the greens next weekend as they travel to Findlay.
