9.9.12 WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cavs Lose 7-2 at Michigan Tech

(Houghton, MI)  Walsh fell to 0-3 on the season, and to 0-3 in the GLIAC after falling 7-2 at Michigan Tech University today.  The win improved Tech to 5-0 overall, and to 2-0 in conference play.  Walsh’s Kayla Shaheen (Sr., Canton, OH/Central Catholic) won 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles and Mary-Catherine Beck (Sr., Alliance, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas ) won 6-3, 5-7, 10-6 at fifth singles.

The Cavs return to action next weekend, as they play three GLIAC matches in Michigan again.  The Cavs play at Northwood University on Friday (2 pm), at Grand Valley State University on Saturday (10 am) and at Ferris State University on Sunday (10 am).
