Admission Requirements
Admission as a Freshmen
Prospective students must meet two of the following three criteria: (1) minimum high school 3.5 GPA, (2) minimum 27 ACT or 1100 SAT score, (3) graduate in top 10% of high school class. In addition to applying to the University, eligible students must complete a separate application for the BA/MA Program, submit a writing sample, and participate in an interview with BA/MA faculty.
Optional Admission If you do not currently meet requirements to enter the BA/MA Program, the Track 2 or Track 3 option may be just right for you.
Track 2 is open to students after their freshman year who meet the following criteria: (1) complete 30 semester hours, including transfer credits, with a minimum 3.3 GPA; (2) complete Principles of Psychology (PSYCH 101), Principles of Learning (PSYCH 201) or Physiological Psychology (PSYCH 251), and Social Problems (SOC 204); (3) submit the BA/MA application, writing sample, and transcript to the BA/MA Program Coordinator; (4) participate in an interview with BA/MA faculty.
Track 3 is open to students after their sophomore year who meet the following criteria: (1) complete 60 semester hours, including transfer credits, with a minimum 3.3 GPA; (2) complete Principles of Psychology (PSYCH 101), Principles of Learning (PSYCH 201), Physiological Psychology (PSYCH 251), Social Problems (SOC 204), Minority Groups (SOC 205) or Family Systems (SOC 303); Statistics for Behavioral Science (BSC 221) and one of the following: Social Psychology (BSC 301), Personality (PSYCH 305), Abnormal Psychology (PSYCH 401); (3) submit the BA/MA application, writing sample, and transcript to the BA/MA Coordinator; (4) participate in an interview with BA/MA faculty.
