Ohio Counseling Programs - Alpha Mu Chapter-Chi Si

Welcome to Walsh University's Alpha Mu webpage! 

We invite you to learn more about our Ohio counseling program chapter, winner of the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International's "Outstanding Chapter Award" for 2006. 

The Alpha Mu Chapter was established in 1987 and has grown from five members to over 100. Inductees are chosen based on, a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale, attainment of candidacy, promise of active participation and faculty endorsement. Faculty, alumni, and participating professional counselors who are either certified or licensed, and who have given evidence of distinguished scholarship and professional service, including professional credentials and/or graduation from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) approved program, are also eligible for induction.

Established in 1985 with its first inductees celebrated that same year, Chi Sigma Iota is an international honor society of counseling professionals and professionals in training dedicated to excellence in scholarship, research, and clinical practice and the promotion and recognition of exemplary attainment in the study and practice of counseling. With its national headquarters at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, CSI has 193 chapters and over 30,000 initiated members.
