2007

Current Job Title:

Place of Employment:

Why did you chose Walsh?

I chose Walsh not only because it was right financial decision between the academic and athletic scholarships afforded to me, but also because it was the right personal "fit".  Having an older sister that also attended and graduated from Walsh three years ahead of me allowed me the opportunity to visit campus several times during my high school career, meeting both current students and faculty members.  With the feeling of comfort and community that I experienced while on Walsh's campus, it was only logical to continue my education and follow in the footsteps of my sister there.

Describe briefly what you do in your current job:

As a licensed CPA in the State of Ohio, I'm an external audit senior at Deloitte & Touche serving clients in mainly the consumer/ industrial products and manufacturing industries in both the private and public sectors.

How did Walsh prepare you for your current job?

Walsh's Honors and undergraduate Accounting programs instilled in me a personal skill set and work ethic  which created the foundation that enabled me to easily build on and quickly pass required certifications, and advance in an extremely competitive industry.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering attending Walsh University?

Walsh is not just a means of furthering your education or possibly continuing participation in a sport of choice at the collegiate level.  Walsh proves to be an enriching community where you are not simply a number, where classmates become lifelong friends, where professors become vested career mentors, and where experiences and connections are made that will help you through life.
